What timezone should you calculate your DAUs in?

A reader just asked this question on one of GAMESbrief’s stats pages:

 

“Any advice on the optimal timezone to use when calculating DAU? Is UTC standard? If you have a 60/40 breakdown of customers between US and Europe – are you better off calculating DAU for PST?”

 

I don’t have an immediate answer, so I thought I would ask if any of the GAMESbrief community have a view. Please feel free to comment below, or to send a response to me and I can add it to the  site.
